Directions
Drizzle vegetable oil in a large saucepan. Add the rolled cabbage, seam side down, and cook, covered, over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes. Then add 1 cup water, along with 2 tbsp. tomato paste,1 tbsp. ou (tamarind concentrate), lemon juice, and salt.
Bring the liquid to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat, cover with a heat-proof plate for weight, and simmer for 40 minutes, or until the cooking juices have thickened.
Alternatively, place the saucepan in a preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 40 minutes.
